Call for the international mobilization of the People's Summit vs. G20
Unity and international solidarity are essential in this battle and in building alternatives for the peoples and our territories
The organizations involved in putting together the ‘People's Summit vs. G20’ are calling a meeting for international mobilization to be held on Saturday 10 August from 11:00 am to 1:00pm (Brasilia time). The meeting will take place virtually (with simultaneous interpretation into English, Spanish, French and Portuguese) and to take part you must register in advance by 7 August by following this link.
The aim is to bring together civil society organizations, trade unions and grassroots movements from various countries on all continents, so that together we can join forces in the collective construction and declaration done by the People's Summit vs. G20, an activity that will take place in Rio de Janeiro from 16 to 18 November this year. The initiative is autonomous, independent and parallel to the official programme of the G20 Leaders' Summit, which is also taking place in the capital of Rio de Janeiro on November 18th and 19th.
Today, there are numerous crises, which is why it is necessary to denounce the false solutions being proposed by the G20 countries, debate on the agenda to combat social inequality and the ecological crisis, to put forward an anti-imperialist vision and propose alternatives to the current system. The People's Summit vs. G20 is also about getting involved in other current fundamental struggles, such as the anti-racist struggle and international solidarity, especially with the Palestinian people.
Come and be part of this collective process. Unity and international solidarity are essential in this battle and in building alternatives for the peoples and our territories. We are counting on your presence!
