Solidarity with the London Underground Strikers
London Metro strike is part of global crisis in public and subterranean transport

The workers of the International Coordination of Underground Unions of the World, which brings together the main metros of America and Europe, want to express to their comrades of the London Underground their most committed solidarity with the strike they are carrying out, following the precariousness of employment that the managers of the London Underground and the trains want to impose.
For several years we, the Tube workers who are members of the Coordinadora, have been denouncing and *rejecting* the accelerated casualisation, outsourcing and privatisation of the public transport system, particularly the Tube. This process has been aggravated by the digitalisation and automation of the production process.
In recent times we have suffered from the loss of value of our wages, understaffing and the decline in the quality of the travel experience for our users, *situations* that are consequences of this process of automation, privatisation, outsourcing, downsizing and cuts in the recruitment of workers.
The London Metro strike is part of this crisis in public and underground transport, where the demands of governments and employers are increasing to increase timetable coverage and passenger numbers, *without improving working conditions* and by strengthening companies, cutting budgets and raising fares.
We believe that our struggle for the right to public transport is global in scope. That's why the unions in the Coordinadora will be organising local *activities* to show solidarity with our comrades on the London Underground.
