Meeting of European trade unions that are members of the ILNSS

The meeting will take place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September at the premises of the Solidaires trade union at 31, rue de la Grange aux Belles in Paris.

A welcoming reception is planned for Friday 25 September from 6.00 pm, featuring a screening of the film shot during the founding meeting of the RSISL in Saint-Denis in March 2013, followed by a round-table discussion on the creation of the RSISL with the participation of comrades who were involved in its founding.

Friday 25 September:

6.00 pm: Welcome

6.30 pm: Screening of the film followed by a round-table discussion and drinks.

Saturday 26 September:

9.00 am: Welcome with coffee and pastries

9.30 am: Presentation of the framework and review of developments since the 6th RSISL meeting in Italy in 2025

A review of our organisations’ participation in various initiatives since 2023.

Round-table discussion: organisations, political and social situation in each country

12.30 pm: Lunch break (Lebanese buffet)

1.30 pm: The far right: how to combat it?

Introduction on the situation of the far right in France by the Solidaires Antifa committee. Followed by contributions from each of the trade union organisations present.

Finally, possible RSISL initiatives and campaigns on this theme.

15.45: Climate emergency: a trade union struggle for an environmental policy that protects the entire population.

Workers facing this summer’s wildfires.

Introduction to the situation by the Solidaires Ecology Committee and presentation of the panel by David from the CGT Firefighters’ Union (Esp.) and Cédric from SUD SDIS (Fr.) ; as workers who physically battle fires, they will share their analysis.

Round-table discussion on how global warming is affecting the lives of workers.

Possible initiatives and campaigns by the RSISL on this issue.
