Earthquake: Resistance and internationalist solidarity in Colombia

Following the earthquake that affected various parts of Colombia, communities and social organizations are grappling with the aftermath of the emergency and organizing responses from within their own territories.

In many of these areas—historically marked by neglect and inequality—the emergency once again highlights the difficulties communities face in accessing aid, resources, and the guarantee of their rights.

In response to this situation, social organizations, trade unions, and collectives from Colombia and other countries have begun coordinating initiatives based on self-management, support, and solidarity.

On Wednesday, September 2, the RSISL/ILNSS invites you to a virtual meeting to hear directly from those on the ground: What is happening? What are the most urgent needs? How are communities organizing, and what can we do through internationalist solidarity?

Representatives from SINATRAP, Juntanza Feminista Cali, the Puerto Resistencia collectives in Cali, TEJE, SOLIDAIRES and IWGB will participate, sharing their experiences and perspectives on the current situation, local responses, and solidarity initiatives.
