General strike on 29 May

The International Trade Union Network for Solidarity and Struggle supports the call by numerous Italian trade union organisations for a strike on 29 May.

The attacks by the Italian government and employers are part of the reactionary offensive we are witnessing in many other countries. Trade union resistance, the unity of our working class, and internationalist trade unionism are all the more necessary!

We particularly welcome the building of this mobilisation and the calls from the ‘grassroots unions’, several of which are members of the Network.

CUB, SGB, ADL Varese, SI COBAS, USI 1912 and USI-CIT are jointly calling for a national general strike on 29 May in Italy, for higher wages and pensions, against the war economy, to defend the right to strike, against the genocide in Palestine, and in support of the Palestinian people.
