Declaration of Socialist Solidarity with Workers in Iran

No imperialist war against the people of Iran!

No Islamic Republic of Iran!

Support the struggles of the people of Iran for social justice, equality and freedom!

It is up to the people of Iran to decide their future!

The United States and the State of Israel have unleashed a new war in the Middle East, the dramatic consequences of which for Iran and the entire region cannot be measured today.

The campaign of strikes launched against Iran is devastating for the civilian population. Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu have already announced their intention to continue the bombing in the coming days.

These attacks have certainly led to the elimination of leading figures in the dictatorial regime, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior officials of the Revolutionary Guards.

The supreme dictator may be gone, but the dictatorship will not fall under the bombs. The people of Iran want to be able to judge for themselves those responsible for more than 47 years of repression, massacres and oppression.

History has shown that imperialist wars have never liberated peoples. The physical elimination of dictators such as Saddam Hussein or Gaddafi did not liberate the Iraqi or Libyan people. Moreover, this is not the goal of Trump and Netanyahu, who are not allies of the people or defenders of freedom.

- Netanyahu bears responsibility for the genocide in Gaza and repeated wars against the Palestinian, Lebanese and Syrian peoples.

- Trump, for his part, is accelerating an imperialist and warmongering policy aimed at strengthening US hegemony and imposing leaders who are subservient to its interests.

Their goal is not the emancipation of peoples, but the reconfiguration of geopolitical power relations in the world and in the Middle East, in the service of their imperialist, colonialist and capitalist order.

For its part, the Islamic Republic of Iran is responding by threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz and launching missiles against Israel and countries in the region that host US military bases.

Beyond being deadly, this new war poses immense risks to the populations. The Islamic Republic of Iran will use this war to further increase its repression against the sectors fighting in Iran. The regime will use this war to impose its narrative on the popular mobilisations of January, explaining that they were fomented by Israel and the United States.

This war will overshadow the massive massacre committed by the Islamic Republic of Iran last January. This war will put a temporary halt to the resurgence of struggles that we have seen, particularly in universities.

Neither imperialist military interventions nor the Islamic Republic defend the interests of the Iranian people. Emancipation can only come from the struggles waged by the peoples of Iran.

The only way to free themselves from imperialist domination, the dictatorship of the mullahs and the Revolutionary Guards, exploitation and oppression is through the independent organisation of workers, women, youth and oppressed minorities.

We support the strengthening of popular mobilisations aimed at overthrowing the Islamic Republic and paving the way for a society based on social justice, real equality and freedom.

Reactionary forces, particularly monarchists, support Trump and Netanyahu's intervention in the hope of returning to power through this criminal war. They are benefiting from the mainstream media's promotion of Reza Pahlavi as a political alternative.

Their project is in total contradiction with the democratic and social aspirations of the Iranian people. Reza Pahlavi has never broken with the dictatorial legacy of his father's monarchy. His pro-imperialist, pro-Zionist, ultra-liberal and authoritarian orientation cannot represent workers, women, youth and national minorities.

Iranian society has been fighting for years to put an end to the Islamic Republic. It is fighting for social justice, equality, freedom and the right to self-determination. These aspirations are incompatible with any restoration of the monarchy and with the return of the former ‘elites’ who were overthrown in 1979.

We reaffirm our full solidarity with all those in Iran who are fighting to overthrow the Islamic Republic and build a democratic, egalitarian and free society from below.

Immediate end to imperialist war!

Down with the Islamic Republic of Iran!

Solidarity with the workers, women, youth and peoples of Iran.

Long live social justice, equality and freedom!

The International Alliance in Support of Workers in Iran Statement Against War

The International Alliance in Support of Workers in Iran (IASWI) condemns in the strongest terms the war launched on February 28, 2026 by the governments of the United States and Israel against the territory of Iran. Framed, among other lies, as a “preemptive strike” and “support for the Iranian people,” this aggression makes clear that civilian lives, safety, and democratic aspirations are not even the least concern of the Trump and Netanyahu regimes. Within the first hours of bombing, more than 150 elementary school girls in Minab, along with education workers, were killed, many more were injured, and hospitals and civilian neighborhoods were targeted in Tehran and other cities across the country.

This war is part of a broader regime-change agenda of the United States and Israel, carried out solely for their own strategic purposes and entirely disconnected from the aspirations of people in Iran for a better future. While claiming to support freedom in Iran, the Trump and Netanyahu governments have consistently sabotaged and endangered grassroots protests and independent social movements, imposed devastating economic sanctions, and promoted figures such as Reza Pahlavi, who has openly endorsed this war.

Reza Pahlavi, the son of the deposed Shah of Iran, has issued statements saying: “My heart aches for the 3 American heroes killed and the 5 wounded by the regime. The Iranian people are forever in their debt. To their grieving families: please accept our immense love, deepest condolences, and eternal gratitude.” He has also shamefully said: “Iranians are grateful to Donald Trump for targeting the oppressive regime and providing an opportunity for freedom. Now is the time for strong and steady leadership to bring this historic opportunity to fruition.” Meanwhile, he has remained silent about the massacre of schoolchildren and other civilians.

This destructive war is not about liberating the Iranian people. On the contrary, it distorts, undermines, and destroys the very struggles for freedom, equality, workers’ rights, and social and economic justice in Iran.

Independent labour and grassroots organizations inside Iran — including teachers’ associations, bus workers, oil and petrochemical workers, steel workers, sugarcane workers, pensioners, and women’s and student organizations — have consistently opposed imperialist wars, militarism, as well as repression by the Iranian regime. Rooted in workplaces, schools, and communities, they have repeatedly warned that foreign military aggression and domestic authoritarian policies alike undermine their struggles for bread, freedom, gender equality, and democratic rights.

The working class of Iran has been clear: neither bombs, nor economic sanctions, nor authoritarian rule will deliver equality and freedom. The path to liberation lies in the independent collective power of workers, women, students, and oppressed communities themselves. We urge labour and socialist movements worldwide to continue supporting the Iranian working class in their organizing efforts against the capitalist and repressive policies of the Islamic Republic, which has imprisoned labour activists, crushed independent unions, massacred protesters, executed political prisoners, and imposed neoliberal and corrupt economic policies that have devastated working people.

We call on all workers, justice-seeking, and freedom-loving organizations and individuals to urgently demand:

. Immediate and unconditional ceasefire.

. A halt to all U.S. and Israeli bombing and military operations, as well as retaliatory responses by Iranian military forces.

. Protection of civilians and full humanitarian access, including the immediate release of political prisoners whose lives are at grave risk.

We further urge workers, trade unions, socialists and progressive anti-war organizations, and activists internationally to center the grassroots voices and demands inside Iran by:

. Strengthening international solidarity against militarism, imperialism, capitalism, authoritarianism, and repression.

. Supporting the Iranian people’s struggles for freedom, equality, and self-determination without any interference from foreign governments.

The people of Iran and the region do not need bombs or warmongers — they need solidarity from workers and people of conscience around the world.

The US and Israel must Immediately stop bombing Iran

No to war!

Ceasefire now!

Long live international solidarity
