Oil workers approve indefinite nationwide strike starting December 15

The National Federation of Oil Workers (FNP) has called for an indefinite nationwide strike starting December 15, due to Petrobras' lack of progress in negotiations for the 2025-2026 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The oil workers' strike seeks to pressure the company's management to present a proposal that meets their demands, accusing the administration of prioritizing shareholders over workers.
The oil workers argue that Petrobras has had a detailed proposal from the union since July 2025, but that the counterproposals presented have been "insignificant," ignoring fair demands and, in some cases, attacking already established rights. The company uses the rhetoric of the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil as a pretext for not recognizing the efforts of workers who continue to generate record profits.
With the slogan "Less for shareholders, more rights!", oil workers are demanding a financial proposal compatible with the company's billion-dollar profits, which restores the wage losses accumulated under the Temer and Bolsonaro governments and guarantees a real increase.
