Amazon in struggle!
The Network
The International Trade Union Network of Solidarity and Struggles support the struggles of Amazon workers. In the United States, England, Poland and Germany, we have had the opportunity in recent months to talk about the struggles in these different countries. Currently, Amazon workers are fighting in France and Spain.
In Spain, a strike organised by the CGT took place from 26 to 28 November at the huge logistics centre in Murcia. The movement is set to continue from 16 to 23 December. This marks a turning point in the struggle for dignity at work within the tech giant. The strike is the result of mounting discontent and Amazon's repeated refusal to sit down at the negotiating table to discuss fundamental improvements. Amazon is considering laying off 1,200 employees at Amazon Digital Spain and Amazon Spain Service in Madrid and Barcelona.
In France, Amazon employees are also taking action: in Lille on 27 November to support a SUD/Solidaires activist whom the bosses want to dismiss; in Brétigny on 28 November to protest against working conditions and dismissals, again of SUD/Solidaires activists.
Spreading the word about the strikes, demonstrations and rallies taking place at Amazon centres around the world is useful for everyone's struggles, everywhere! Our resistance and our social victories here and there benefit everyone!
