Syndi. Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Comp.
Hasan Saeidi and Reza Shahabi, members of the Syndicate of Workers of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, who were unjustly arrested in May 2022 and were imprisoned in Evin prison without a day's leave, were released on September 1, 2024.
According to their lawyers, following the finding of faults in the initial court decisions after taking the case to the Supreme Court, the 6-year prison sentences against these imprisoned labour activists were reduced to 3 years and 6 months, and they were released after the required prison term ended and the case was closed.
The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company congratulates the freedom of its two imprisoned members to their esteemed families, and to our colleagues and workers of the country, and to the justice-seeking and freedom-loving people, to their lawyers, and to all organizations and individuals in Iran and around the world that worked for their release; they have our full gratitude.
We also call for the immediate release of our two other imprisoned longtime members, Ebrahim Madadi and Davood Razavi, and all imprisoned workers, teachers, and civil rights activists.
Additional updates on this matter will be published by the syndicate soon.
