Solidarity with the metro workers' strike in São Paulo

The International Labour Network of Solidarity and Struggles expresses its support to the underground workers of São Paulo on strike this March 23rd for their demands:

- End of outsourcing and privatization!
- Hiring of new metro workers through public competition!
- No to the debt default! Payment of profit sharing in 2020, 2021 and 2022!

Against the interests of the population, the government of São Paulo is working for the privatization of the whole metro-railway system in São Paulo.
That's why it refuses to hire new metro workers to improve working conditions and better serve the entire population.
In addition, the government of Sao Paulo has defaulted on the payment of the participation in the results of 2020, 2021 and 2022, period in which the men and women underground workers worked during the pandemic subject to contamination, sequels and deaths.
While denying the payment to the metro workers, the government of São Paulo gave a 50% salary increase to the governor himself, and the board of the metro company. This is unacceptable!
We demand that the government of Sao Paulo suspends all outsourcing and privatization, opens a hiring competition and pays the participation in the results of the last three years!
