Rebel, love, fight corruption!

After the adoption of the controversial Law No. 4555, unprecedented protests since the start of the large-scale war broke out across Ukraine, bringing together tens of thousands of people. Priama Diia activists joined them from day one and stayed with them until the end. We took to the streets of Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Uzhhorod, Mykolaiv and Odessa. Together with other activists and citizens who enriched the protest with their beautiful banners, fiery slogans and striking images, we showed that even in times of war, society will not allow leaders to make arbitrary decisions to line their pockets with impunity.

On the day the new law was passed, which cancelled most of the changes introduced by Law No. 4555, our activists took part in the final demonstration of this campaign in Kyiv with an original piece of protest art: our photo booth, which you can see in the photo below.

We hope that this demonstration of direct democracy will remind the authorities of their responsibility to the people, which is even greater in times of war, and remind the people that, despite all the circumstances, power is in our hands and it is up to us to use it. Although the independence of anti-corruption bodies has been restored at the legislative level and the demands of the protests have been officially met, more significant changes have taken place that cannot be easily reversed: mass protests have lost their ‘taboo’ status, opening up new prospects for the continuation of the struggle, particularly for the social demands of students and workers. This is therefore not the end, but only the beginning of a new reality of social life.
