Solidaires (CM)

RMT (transport, including railways) and CWU (Post Office) have been in a cycle of successive strikes for six months. PCS (state workers) won the ballot for strike action in over 100 centres across the country. The nurses' strike on 15 December was high profile: it was the first national strike by the RCN union in its 106-year history.  In many cities, demonstrations are being organised, bringing together the striking sectors as well as many supporters. NEU (teachers) and FBU (firefighters) are preparing strikes for January. In addition, there are various local strikes.

Officially, inflation is between 11 and 14%. But the population knows, because they live it, that the price increase affects even more the basic necessities. Poverty is increasing, life expectancy is decreasing, the capitalists are exploiting us more and more!

The member organisations of the International Labour Network of Solidarity and Struggle salute the strikers in Britain and call for messages of solidarity to be sent to the British trade union movement.

In Britain as elsewhere, solidarity is our weapon!
