The Kryviy Rih regional court has ruled that the partial suspension of wage payments by Ukrainian Railways Ukrzaliznytsya is illegal. This decision affects more than 300,000 workers, who will now receive their full wages.

On Friday 6 October, the judges finally declared illegal the decision of the Board of Directors of Ukrzaliznytsya dated 14. 03. 2022 concerning the suspension of payments provided for in the sectoral agreement and collective agreements. Ukrzaliznytsia is obliged to pay the outstanding amounts. Many of the transport company's employees have been deprived of their statutory wages as a result of an unjust and ultimately illegal decision by UZ management.

Vyacheslav Fedorenko [whom the delegation from Convoy 3 of the International Trade Union Solidarity and Struggle Network met; here a photo of their union hall], a machinist and head of the main branch of the Free Trade Union of Railway Workers of Ukraine at the Kryvyi Rih locomotive depot, and his colleagues in the regions have gone to court, forcing UZ to compensate the railway workers for the legitimate damage they have suffered.

The member organisations of the International Labour Network of Solidarity and Struggle and the Rail Without Borders Network reaffirm their support for the Ukrainian trade union resistance that is fighting against the occupation of the country by the Russian army and continuing to defend the interests of Ukrainian workers in the face of the employers and the government that are trying to restrict their rights.
