Unitary trade union meeting

On 12 July, the Metropolitan Coordination of Workers in Struggle (CM-TL) and the National Conflict Committee of Workers in Struggle (CNC-TL) organised a meeting aimed at uniting independent Venezuelan trade unionism.

The invitation stated: "To achieve this, we need a great deal of persuasion, tolerance, respect and flexibility. The differences, complaints, criticisms and internal conflicts that we have had to date must be dealt with and channelled so that they do not hinder the progress of the unity process. The situation we are experiencing calls for greater political maturity, closer unity and the greatest effort to strengthen the trade union movement and achieve concrete victories".

Representatives of various trade union organisations were also present. In addition to CM-TL and CNC-TL, delegates from CTV, UNT, CUTV, non-confederated unions, pensioners' and retirees' associations took part in the demonstration, which was a source of hope for independent trade unionists, trade unionism and the people of Venezuela!
