Manifesto May 1st - International Workers' Day
For Internationalist Solidarity Against Capitalist Barbarism!
May 1st is a day of struggle and resistance against capitalist exploitation that oppresses the working class across the world. The history of this day reminds us that only collective organization and class struggle can destroy the chains of capital and build a future of emancipation.
In the midst of the structural crisis of capitalism, workers face precariousness, subcontracting, uberization, the dismantling of historical rights, hunger, poverty and state repression.
The tariff trade war imposed by the far-rightist Donald Trump is nothing more than another maneuver of imperialist capitalism to divide the global working class, while large corporations continue to benefit from transnational exploitation. While bosses manipulate borders by erecting walls and laws that criminalize poverty and migration, we, workers in all countries, suffer unemployment, inflation, precariousness and xenophobia.
We stand with the Palestinian people and denounce the ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli State and its allies. We support the Ukrainian workers' and popular resistance against the Russian occupation. We denounce the growing militarization of society that capitalist rulers want to impose.
The violence of the State and capital is not accidental: it is a project. The bodies of Black people, Indigenous peoples, Women, LGBTQIA+ people, Immigrants and those from the peripheries are the first targets. But where there is oppression, there is resistance! And this resistance is criminalized, persecuted and crushed.
The criminal inaction of capitalist governments in the face of the climate crisis reveals their pact with barbarism: while the planet burns, the poorest – historically plundered by colonialism and imperialism – are the first to die from hunger, floods and droughts.
We reaffirm the resolutions of our international meetings and call on the working class to organize in combative and independent unions, building power to the people from the grassroots.
We stand for:
- Defense of the rights of the working class against capitalist exploitation that leads to precariousness, subcontracting, uberization...
- Combative unionism based on workers' democracy.
- Unionism for social transformation and revolution.
- Independence of the working class from all governments and bosses.
- Against the austerity plans imposed by governments at the service of capital.
- Against the economic “protectionism” of the extreme right, we raise the flag of class struggle without borders, for the unity of the exploited against the true common enemy: capital and its servile governments.
- Self-determination to oppressed peoples! For internationalist solidarity against colonialism and neocolonialism! For the right to migration!
- Opposition to all forms of oppression: sexism, racism, lgbtqi+phobia, xenophobia and ableism.
- Against the destruction of the environment. For ecological unionism. In defense of life.
- Defense of self-organization, self-defense/worker control and other forms of working class power.
- Fight against the extreme right and dictatorships! Fight for democratic freedoms and against repression!
- Oppose the criminalization of struggles!
- Down with the imperialist arms race! No to capitalist wars!
- Support the BDS campaign and the boycott and divestment of all genocidal corporations!
- Internationalist solidarity! No worker is illegal!
The International Labour Network of Solidarity and Struggles is not limited to words: we are in the factories, in the streets, in the schools, in the occupied territories, articulating resistance and building an anti-capitalist, feminist, anti-racist and environmentalist unionism.
This May 1st we raise our flags around the world, with special solidarity with our comrades at war who resist in Palestine and Ukraine, and in all the territories under attack.
Our struggle has no borders!
