Will railway workers have to strike to get their wages?
Rail Without Borders Network
In 2018-2019, Malian railway workers fought for several months, including a collective famim strike that cost several of them their lives. They were simply demanding their wages [See photo].
The situation is similar today. Once again, Malian railway workers are working without pay. Once again, they are preparing to fight, to strike, for the respect of a basic right.
Since the resumption of rail traffic in the country, the railway workers have been facing a difficult situation; in particular, there is a shortage of locomotives, which is seriously affecting the quality of the service.
Asking for wages should not be a demand: it's a right!
